The Moroccan U-20 national team was honored as the best African team of 2025 during a remarkable ceremony organized by the African Football Confederation on Wednesday evening in Rabat, celebrating the significant achievements of Moroccan football at the youth levels.
This recognition did not come out of nowhere. Honestly, the team delivered an extraordinary year by all standards, culminating in its victory at the Youth World Cup, capturing attention with its organized and collective performance, beautiful goals, and fighting spirit, demonstrating that a confident new generation is emerging on the continental stage.
During the ceremony, coach Mohamed Wahbi expressed his pride in this recognition, extending his thanks to King Mohammed VI for his ongoing support of sports, and to the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for his efforts in realizing the royal vision into reality.
Wahbi also highlighted the significant work done by the players, stating that the award is merely a first step to motivate the group to continue their hard work, as the path remains open for them to achieve further accomplishments.
In his opinion, this success reflects the profound transformation that Moroccan football is witnessing at the youth levels, proving that the national team is capable of competing with the continent’s elite and steadily contending in upcoming tournaments, showcasing a commitment that confirms the existence of a comprehensive project, rather than just a fleeting moment of brilliance.
