The Moroccan Association of Mental Health Professionals has affirmed its commitment to the law and distanced itself from any practices outside the professional and civil framework.
In a statement, the association emphasized its ongoing noble professional and community efforts in serving citizens through its voluntary initiatives and activities aimed at raising psychological awareness and highlighting the importance of mental health in building a balanced and healthy society.
Since its establishment, the association has succeeded in gathering a large number of specialists in psychology and mental health, organizing medical caravans, field activities, and training for professionals and the community, as well as signing quality partnerships that benefit youth and vulnerable groups, in line with its community mission.
The association stressed that its work falls within the framework of existing laws in the Kingdom, particularly the Royal Decree No. 1.58.376 related to the establishment of associations, and affirmed its complete respect for the legal and ethical frameworks governing civil associations. It also denied ever presenting itself as an exclusive representative of psychological specialists or as an organization possessing authorities beyond those legally allocated to official bodies.
In related news, the association confirmed that it has not issued any statements that could be perceived as threatening or engaged in any form of deception or blackmail, noting that its role is limited to advocating for and raising awareness about the profession of psychological specialists, in accordance with Moroccan laws and the constitution.
Furthermore, it added that civil associations should remain a legal and ethical framework for purposeful collective work and not a means to harm individuals or institutions. It underscored that values of respect and protection of personal data, as stipulated in Law No. 09-08, are foundational pillars of its philosophy.
The association categorically rejects any attempts to undermine its image or exploit its name for personal or narrow political purposes, retaining the right to resort to legal action against anyone attempting to tarnish its reputation or engage in blackmail against it or its members.
The Moroccan Association of Mental Health Professionals concluded by affirming its total independence from any political or organizational entity, its commitment to principles of transparency and mutual respect, and its continuous voluntary and humanitarian work within the framework of Moroccan laws governing associative work.
