Dar Al-Shi’r in Marrakech celebrates new Moroccan poetry publications as part of its “Diwan” program.
Dar Al-Shi’r in Marrakech continues its cultural and poetic activities with the launch of a new segment of its “Diwan” program on Friday, November 14, at its headquarters in the Daoudiate Cultural Center. This event celebrates recent Moroccan poetry collections released under the “Arabic Creations” series, overseen by the Culture Department of Sharjah, in coordination with Dar Al-Shi’r in Marrakech.
This gathering is part of the ninth season (2025/2026) of the poetry and cultural program, which aims to promote a reading culture and celebrate Moroccan poetry in its various modern experiences. It encourages a creative openness to generations of poets and their diverse artistic expressions.
The segment will include poetry readings and the signing of new publications featuring poets Halima Al-Esmaeili, Abdul Rahman Ahmou, and Karim Ait Hajj, presenting their collections: “The Prophecy of the Mirror,” “I Lost You in the Whispers,” and “Water the Color of Drowning.” This segment will also be accompanied by special musical performances from artist Hajiba and musician Mohamed Ait Al-Qadi.
This initiative is part of a broader cultural project connecting Dar Al-Shi’r in Marrakech with the Culture Department in Sharjah. Its goal is to support publishing and encourage poetic, critical, and translation creativity while opening new horizons for book circulation and enhancing the presence of Moroccan and Arabic poetry in libraries.
With this event, Dar Al-Shi’r in Marrakech reaffirms its role as a platform for creativity and cultural exchange, serving as a bridge that connects modern Moroccan poetry to the broader Arab literary scene, solidifying the place of Moroccan poetry and supporting its presence in the Arab cultural landscape.
