Tata: Consultative Meeting to Launch the New Generation of Integrated Territorial Development Programs
Today, Tuesday, the province of Tata hosted a consultative meeting aimed at initiating the preparation of the integrated territorial development program for the region, in line with the royal directives outlined in the Throne Speech and the opening of the last parliamentary session.
In his opening remarks, the governor of Tata, Mohamed Bari, emphasized that the aim of the meeting was to foster an extensive discussion with elected officials and local and community actors to formulate a shared vision for development, based on a precise assessment of the residents’ needs, using a participatory approach that places the citizen at the core of public policies.
The meeting was not only an occasion for consultation but also a platform for sharing field data. A detailed diagnostic presentation was made regarding the economic and social situation in the region, highlighting strengths in agricultural, energy, and tourism sectors, while also exposing challenges related to infrastructure, limited access to social services, and the decline in water resources in oases.
Participants’ interventions focused on specific issues:
– Improving the quality of education and school facilities in rural areas.
– Enhancing health services and providing medical human resources.
– Supporting local employment and encouraging productive investment.
– Developing road networks to connect remote villages and areas.
– Protecting oases and promoting oasis economies as sources of a decent livelihood.
These discussions formed a common ground for producing practical recommendations that call for effective governance in managing development projects and ensuring coordination among various sectors.
The meeting’s activities revolved around four main themes: employment, education, health care, and land rehabilitation, with extensive participation from elected officials, heads of external services, economic actors, and civil society components.
According to the organizers, this meeting marks the actual start of a collaborative process aimed at preparing a realistic and integrated development program that translates the expectations of Tata’s residents into tangible projects that bring about real change on the ground.
