Russia Establishes a New Branch in Its Armed Forces Dedicated Entirely to Drones
The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced the establishment of a new branch within its armed forces, focusing entirely on drone systems, a field that has become pivotal in modern military operations.
The ministry explained that the experience gained during special military operations has shown a rapid increase in the use of these systems in recent years, prompting the creation of this new structure to ensure efficient management and successful operations.
Colonel Sergey Ishtuganov, the deputy commander of this force, confirmed that the internal organization is already prepared, and necessary resources have been allocated for effective operation. The structure of the new branch has been defined, leadership has been appointed, and military management systems have been established at all levels, alongside the formation of various regiments and units.
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov hinted at the idea of creating this specialized branch in late 2024.
