Partnership Agreement between the Competition Council and the High Commission for Planning to Enhance Transparency and Economic Data Exchange

On Tuesday in Rabat, the Competition Council and the High Commission for Planning signed a partnership agreement aimed at establishing a strategic cooperation framework focused on information exchange, conducting joint studies, and organizing training sessions and awareness activities.

This initiative is part of efforts to enhance economic transparency and understand competitive dynamics in markets, as well as support public decision-making based on accurate data and reliable scientific analyses.

Ahmed Rahouh, President of the Competition Council, affirmed that this agreement will contribute to improving the monitoring of economic sectors and detecting any unjustified price increases, while also reinforcing confidence in the national market by providing clearer insights for both investors and consumers.

For his part, the High Commissioner for Planning, Chakib Benmoussa, pointed out that this partnership reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to facilitate the exchange of statistical and analytical data, noting that it includes data sharing, conducting joint analyses, and developing the capabilities of the staff working within both parties.

Through this collaboration, both sides aim to unify efforts and expertise to enhance competition regulation and stimulate the competitiveness of the national economy. The agreement also includes provisions for the secure exchange of data concerning prices, conducting thematic studies, and organizing training sessions and specialized technical meetings.

With this step, the Competition Council and the High Commission for Planning reaffirm their commitment to contributing to the construction of a more transparent and competitive Moroccan economy, based on principles of fairness and good governance.
