Morocco Places Digital Transformation at the Heart of Sustainable Development: Digital Transition Minister Affirms “Morocco Digital 2030” Strategy
In a bid to accelerate digital transformation and bolster the digital economy, the Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal Al-Falih Al-Sghroushni, participated in the international conference on digital platforms held in Marrakech, highlighting the pivotal role of digitization in comprehensive and sustainable development.
During her speech, Minister Al-Sghroushni confirmed that digital platforms have become central to global economic and social transformations, urging a rethinking of organizational models, competition, and digital sovereignty, while balancing innovation with citizen protection and collective responsibility to ensure inclusive and ethical digitization that places humanity at its core.
The Minister emphasized that Morocco, inspired by the vision of King Mohammed VI, continues to implement the “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy, which aims to digitize public services and enhance the digital economy through skill development, establishing a national cloud infrastructure, adopting modern technologies, and expanding high-speed internet connectivity.
She stressed the importance of international cooperation and establishing legal and ethical frameworks to regulate digital services and artificial intelligence, affirming that cybersecurity and digital sovereignty are fundamental pillars for protecting the national economy and enhancing trust in the digital space.
The Minister concluded her remarks by outlining four key pillars for successful digital transformation in Morocco: a robust network and cloud computing infrastructure, effective governance ensuring transparency and security, innovation supported by partnerships and support for startups, and inclusivity enabling all citizens and businesses to benefit from this digital transition.
