Morocco Launches Largest Volunteer Training Program in Preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations
As the date for the Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco 2025) approaches, the kingdom is gearing up to prepare its human resources to ensure the success of this major continental event. A comprehensive training program has been launched, targeting 15,000 volunteers from various regions of the kingdom, including over a thousand African students residing in Morocco. This initiative, introduced by the local organizing committee in collaboration with the Office for Vocational Training and Job Promotion, is aimed at the football festivities set to take place from December 21 to January 18, 2026.
The training session began last Friday in Rabat and continued until yesterday, focusing on equipping volunteers with skills in hospitality, guidance, and audience support, while enhancing their communication and teamwork abilities to provide a professional experience for attendees.
Shaimaa Kiani, an official at the Office for Vocational Training and Job Promotion in Rabat, stated that the course aims to prepare volunteers to contribute to the success of the tournament, highlighting Moroccan hospitality and values. She noted that the culture of volunteering serves as a leverage for the kingdom’s sports visibility and makes sporting events unforgettable experiences for both visitors and Moroccans alike.
Volunteer Shaimaa Al-Hayani confirmed that the training allows participants to learn about audience reception and organization not only in stadiums but also in airports, train stations, and hotels. She added that the volunteers would act as ambassadors for Moroccan culture, customs, and traditions.
For her part, volunteer Mariam Keita from Mali expressed her ambition to showcase Moroccan hospitality and enhance communication with the audience, asserting that her participation represents Morocco, Mali, and Africa, and contributes to promoting cultural exchange values.
The program includes over 70 centers across the kingdom, with the participation of more than 150 instructors to mentor volunteers and equip them with professional skills that enhance their readiness for this grand continental event.
