Military Service 2025: 863 Million Dirhams to Train 40,000 Recruits and Enhance Their Professional Integration
The Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Abdellatif Loudiyi, revealed that the total cost of military service for the year 2025 is approximately 863 million dirhams, equivalent to 86.3 million dirhams.
Loudiyi explained during the discussion of the national defense budget before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives that the positive outcomes of the previous military service phase have encouraged the Royal Armed Forces to continue developing their programs, modernizing infrastructure, and providing the necessary material and human resources, which has contributed to motivating Moroccan youth to join the service.
He noted that the 39th cohort, consisting of 20,000 recruits, will benefit from vocational training in various centers and specialized units until the end of the training period on August 1, 2025. The 40th cohort, which also includes 20,000 recruits, will have all necessary arrangements in place for their reception starting September 1, as per royal directives.
These arrangements include maintaining the readiness of training center infrastructure, providing educational and training resources, establishing new units to relieve pressure on larger centers, and improving reception conditions for the recruits. Qualified personnel have also been appointed to supervise the new cohort and train them in pedagogical and specialized fields, along with the commencement of construction for a new barracks at the sixth training center in Jerf and the initiation of a technical study for the fifth center in Khouribga.
Loudiyi added that the National Defense Administration has worked to enhance the professional qualifications of the recruits to facilitate their integration into the job market by expanding cooperation with various sectors and public administrations. Six partnership agreements have been signed with the agriculture, tourism, handicrafts, social and solidarity economy sectors, as well as customs, indirect taxes, the Office National des Chemins de Fer, and the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion, while two additional agreements are being prepared with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics to cover professions related to land and maritime transport.
