Bong Joon-ho to Chair the Jury of the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival
The administration of the Marrakech International Film Festival has unveiled the lineup for the jury of its 22nd edition, scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 6, 2025.
This year’s jury features an extraordinary international composition, bringing together eight distinguished cinematic figures representing four continents and various cultures to evaluate 14 feature films in the official competition aimed at discovering emerging talents in global cinema.
Heading the jury is South Korean director Bong Joon-ho, winner of the Palme d’Or and four Academy Awards for his film “Parasite”. His selection aims to enhance the international dimension of the festival and encourage dialogue among diverse creative perspectives.
The jury also includes Brazilian-Algerian director Karim Aïnouz, Moroccan director Hakim Belabbes, French director Julia Ducournau, Iranian actor and director Peyman Maadi, American actress Jenna Ortega, Canadian director and writer Celine Song, and English-Argentinian actress Anya Taylor-Joy.
The festival’s management affirmed that the choice of this diverse panel aims to create a space for the exchange of ideas and enhance discussions surrounding contemporary cinema. Awards for the festival will be announced during the closing ceremony on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
