A stunning musical evening at Mohammed V Theatre as part of “Visa for Music” events in Rabat.

On Thursday, the Mohammed V Theatre in Rabat hosted an exceptional musical evening within the framework of the twelfth edition of the “Visa for Music” festival. The audience experienced an artistic journey full of energy and interaction, featuring performances that included Moroccan, American, and African voices.

The evening was opened by Moroccan artist Yassine Benfdoul, who performed selected pieces from his artistic project “Guitariats,” accompanied by his band. Their performance blend classical and modern styles, creating a warm atmosphere in the hall, with the audience responding enthusiastically to the gentle rhythms and enchanting guitar melodies.

The concert continued with the Moroccan-American group “AZA,” who took the audience on a musical journey connecting Moroccan Amazigh identity with contemporary Western rhythms. Their performance featured a mix of traditional instruments and jazz, rock, and blues styles, showcasing a seamless harmony.

The evening concluded with the “Kanazoé Orkestra” from Burkina Faso and France, delivering a vibrant African show that relied on balafon rhythms and the festive character of West African music. The audience was inspired to clap and dance along to the melodies, blending Manding roots with modern global styles.

The twelfth edition of “Visa for Music,” running from November 19 to 22, continues to offer a rich program featuring over 500 artists and a thousand professionals from Morocco and beyond, making Rabat a vital meeting point for lovers of African and Middle Eastern music.

The festival receives support from the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Council, the Hibba Foundation, and the Moroccan Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights. This edition highlights artists from Portuguese-speaking African countries celebrating fifty years of independence and features electronic music performances with Maghreb and Middle Eastern touches, illustrating the vibrant artistic energies of Morocco both domestically and internationally.
