Akhannouch: The government has achieved tangible results in improving citizens’ living conditions and enhancing investment and employment

The head of the government, Aziz Akhannouch, stated today in the Mdiouna region that Morocco is currently undergoing a decisive phase in its economic and social reform journey, benefiting from the major projects launched by King Mohammed VI. He clarified that the government has adopted an approach based on commitment and efficiency, which has directly reflected on the standard of living of citizens and the dynamism of employment and investment.

During the seventh stop of the “Achievements Tour” organized by the National Rally of Independents party across various regions of the kingdom, Akhannouch emphasized that social protection has been a focal point for the government, noting that more than four million families have benefited from direct support ranging between 500 and 1200 dirhams per month.

He added that the government has worked on expanding health coverage for all professional and social categories under a unified system, alongside improving the income of millions of families through wage increases that included public and private sectors as well as agriculture. Furthermore, more than 55,000 families have been enabled to obtain their first homes through housing support.

On the economic front, Akhannouch highlighted that Morocco maintained a positive growth rate of 3.8% in 2024, with expectations of reaching 4.8% in 2025, despite climatic challenges affecting agriculture. He noted that this performance reflects the effectiveness of government policies and investment dynamics, indicating the creation of 213,000 new jobs in the industrial, construction, and services sectors.

The party leader concluded by pointing out that job losses in the agricultural sector remain an ongoing challenge due to consecutive years of drought, expressing hope that the improvement in rainfall will help restore balance to this vital sector.
