Zidan: The Support Project for Small Enterprises is Nearing Launch and Spatial Equity is a Priority
Khalid Zidan, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government responsible for Investment, Integration, and Policy Evaluation, confirmed that the support system for very small, small, and medium enterprises has entered its final stages, explaining that it will be launched “within a few days,” with the city of Errachidia serving as the official starting point. This move symbolizes the government’s commitment to achieving spatial equity.
During a question-and-answer session in the House of Councillors on Tuesday, Zidan stated that the aim of this initiative is to highlight the least attractive investment areas and transform them into successful models, adding that “the challenge is to make these areas more capable of attracting projects to ensure the spatial fairness we all aspire to.”
The government official emphasized that encouraging investment is a “shared responsibility” involving the government, parliamentarians, elected officials, and local partners, noting that improving service quality remains a central priority to ensure the efficiency of facilities and facilitate investor access.
Speaking about reforming the investment system, Zidan highlighted that the government has introduced new mechanisms within the Investment Charter, which relies on a modern legal framework to accelerate national and foreign investment. He emphasized the efforts made to simplify administrative procedures and reduce the complex steps that had previously hindered investors.
Zidan also pointed out that Morocco is working to enhance its attractiveness by developing infrastructure and investing in major projects, including industrial zones, airports, and ports. He reminded stakeholders that renewable energy represents a strong lever to attract international investors looking for clean and stable energy sources.
He added that the government is promoting “the Moroccan offer” through international tours to showcase investment opportunities across various regions of the country, in line with the royal vision aimed at achieving spatial equity and equal opportunities among provinces.
The Minister Delegate confirmed that there is clear political will to direct investors towards areas far from major urban centers, with the goal of achieving comprehensive developmental balance, stressing that “the successes recorded today are the result of a long collective effort, and the next step will represent a qualitative leap to solidify investors’ trust in Morocco.”
Zidan concluded by asserting that improving the business environment depends on the awareness of employees and managers in investment centers regarding their role as actual partners in supporting investors, calling for more support for projects and qualified youth to enhance employment and local development.
