The Moroccan Under-17 national team arrived today, Thursday, in Doha, the capital of Qatar, in preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November 3 to 27.
The Moroccan team participates in this global football event, which will see the participation of 48 teams for the first time, as the champion of Africa following its well-deserved victory in the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The tournament draw placed the national team in Group B alongside Portugal, Japan, and New Caledonia, in a group that appears balanced and promises strong and exciting encounters.
The national squad recently completed a closed training camp in the United Arab Emirates from October 21 to 30, during which they played two friendly matches; the first ended in a draw with Venezuela (3-3), while the young lions triumphed over Switzerland with a score of (2-0).
This camp is part of the intensive preparations overseen by the national technical staff, aimed at enhancing the players’ readiness and allowing them to represent Moroccan football in the best possible light at this prominent global event.
The matches of the tournament will take place at the Aspire Zone stadiums in Doha, which will host 104 matches at an average of eight matches daily. Khalifa International Stadium will host the final match on November 27.
The Moroccan team’s schedule in the group stage is as follows:
– Monday, November 3: Morocco vs. Japan (2:30 PM Morocco time, Stadium 5, Aspire Zone – Doha).
– Thursday, November 6: Morocco vs. Portugal (1:30 PM, Stadium 8, Aspire Zone – Doha).
– Sunday, November 9: Morocco vs. New Caledonia (4:30 PM, Stadium 7, Aspire Zone – Doha).
