Salim Amallah has joined UAE’s Khorfakkan in search of a new challenge.

On Thursday, Khorfakkan Club officially announced the signing of Moroccan international Salim Amallah, who became a free agent following his stint with Spain’s Real Valladolid.

In a statement, the Emirati club expressed, “A new star joins the UAE Pro League,” welcoming the former player of Belgium’s Standard Liège.

Amallah arrived in Valladolid in January 2023 from Standard Liège, playing 33 matches with the Spanish team across all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists. During the 2023-2024 season, he was loaned to Valencia, but struggled to secure a regular spot in the Spanish club’s lineup.

His transfer to Khorfakkan came after he had fallen out of favor with the Valladolid coach, opening the door for his departure from Europe. After negotiations with Belgian club Anderlecht, the player opted for a new experience in the Middle East, continuing his professional career away from Europe.

Currently, Khorfakkan sits in 11th place in the UAE Pro League after five matches, and the club hopes that Amallah will bring his experience and skills to the attacking midfield, enhancing the team’s chances of improving their league standing this season.
