Opening of the BVMW Office in Rabat to Enhance Cooperation with Morocco and Support Small and Medium Enterprises

On Friday, the German Federal Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (BVMW) officially opened its new office in Morocco in Rabat, with the presence of Khalid Zidan, the Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, and Christoph Ahlenhaus, the General Director of BVMW in Berlin.

This initiative marks a new step to strengthen economic relations between Morocco and Germany, aiming to support the establishment and development of German small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom. The project was implemented in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to enhance industrial and economic integration and achieve mutual prosperity.

Through this office, BVMW aims to develop sustainable partnerships in strategic areas such as industry, training, innovation, and job creation, while also enhancing trade and cultural exchanges between Rabat and Berlin, and supporting joint projects in Africa.

Mr. Ahlenhaus noted that this opening represents a significant phase in deepening economic relations with Morocco, reminding attendees that small and medium enterprises are a cornerstone of the European economy, with approximately 2.1 million companies and over 20 million jobs.

He emphasized Morocco’s attractiveness due to its partnership agreement with the European Union and numerous international trade partnerships, which have attracted major groups such as Renault and Stellantis, making Morocco the top exporter of cars and spare parts to Europe in 2024.

The BVMW office in Rabat will play a role in encouraging new investors, transferring expertise and technologies, and contributing to the creation of qualified job opportunities.

The opening ceremony also featured the signing of several memorandums of understanding between BVMW, AMDIE, and GIZ, reinforcing their joint commitment to enhancing economic cooperation based on trust, integration, and openness to the future.
