Morocco has expressed its welcome for the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, considering it a positive step towards ending humanitarian suffering and creating the conditions necessary for a lasting peace.

In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Morocco commended the diligent efforts made personally by the U.S. President, which significantly contributed to reaching this agreement. The statement also expressed appreciation for the work of all mediators who helped achieve this result.

The Kingdom called on all parties involved to fully commit to implementing the agreement, ensuring the protection of lives, the release of hostages and detainees, allowing humanitarian aid to enter swiftly and adequately, and initiating the reconstruction process, with the aim of establishing a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue.

Furthermore, in the same statement, Morocco reiterated its unwavering commitment to the two-state solution as the sole option for achieving a fair and lasting peace in the region, based on the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and Gaza as part of it, living alongside the State of Israel in security and peace.

The statement concluded by affirming Morocco’s full readiness to effectively contribute to the various forthcoming stages and paths in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and to reinforce stability in the Middle East.
