Morocco: Neutralizing Over 21 Million Cyber Threats in 2025

Kaspersky’s solutions managed to neutralize approximately 21 million cyber threats in Morocco during the first half of 2025, according to Pascal Naudan, head of corporate solutions for North, West, and Central Africa, during the KNext Rabat 2025 conference under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

Naudan confirmed that while the volume of attacks may not have significantly increased compared to last year, their complexity and targeting of more profitable objectives have risen markedly. He added, “Threats have become more realistic and harder to analyze and counter,” pointing out that attackers are shifting between multiple targets before focusing on their main objectives.

The official noted that all sectors are susceptible to attacks, whether public administrations or private companies, large or small, as attackers zero in on targets likely to pay ransoms, transforming cybercrime into an opportunistic economic model.

Naudan praised Morocco’s progress in cybersecurity, affirming that the level of protection is now on par with Europe and the United States, but he cautioned about the notable lag in some African countries that lack adequate protective tools.

He mentioned that Kaspersky is working to expand its interventions on the continent, including in Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon, and observed that an increasing number of clients are moving toward adopting modern solutions, enhancing system resilience and complicating the tasks of cyber attackers.
