Moroccans Among the Most Naturalized Nationalities in Canada During the First Half of 2025
In the first six months of 2025, 1,835 Moroccans obtained Canadian citizenship, according to data from Canadian immigration services. The Moroccan community ranks among the most represented among naturalized foreigners, accounting for 7% of the total new nationalities granted.
Among other nationalities with a significant number of naturalizations, Nigerians lead with 6,831 cases, followed by Algerians with 1,831, and then Tunisians with 1,538.
The majority of naturalization cases are concentrated in Canadian provinces with large Moroccan communities, particularly in Quebec and Ontario, reflecting strong linguistic and professional integration of community members in those areas.
These figures illustrate a continued upward trend in the number of naturalized citizens in Canada in recent years, particularly among newcomers from countries with established and well-integrated communities in Canadian society.
