Kénitra Celebrates the Green March and Independence Day with a Festival of Heat Arts
In celebration of the anniversary of the victorious Green March and Independence Day, the Friends of Goodness Association for Comprehensive Development (A.R.K.D.G), supported by the Kénitra Municipality, is organizing the second edition of the Festival of Heat Arts in Kénitra, under the slogan “Intangible Heritage of the Gharb: A Key Element in the Mosaic of Moroccan Popular Culture.”
The festival kicks off on Saturday, November 1, 2025, starting at 5 PM at the municipal palace, where a seminar titled “The Gharb Region: A Reservoir of Popular Heritage and an Essential Component of the Intangible Heritage System in Morocco” will be led by Professor Idriss El Karch and Dr. Hamdach Ammar. The artistic activities and folk performances will include the Olad Yaâcoub group and the Qassim Al-Fraai group specialized in heat arts.
The festival’s activities will conclude on Sunday, November 2, 2025, starting at 5 PM at the municipal palace with a major artistic evening featuring performances by the comedy duo Al-Masih, the Mismis group, the Lamnassira group, and the Olad Al-Qaid Mbark group for heat arts. The event aims to showcase the cultural heritage of the Moroccan Gharb and reinforce the place of heat arts within the national cultural landscape, while providing an opportunity for the audience to explore the rich popular heritage of the region.
