From the Heart of the Spiritual Capital… Speed and Excitement Kick Off with the Morocco Rally 2025
Under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 26th edition of the Morocco Rally will commence on October 10 from the city of Fes, heading towards Errachidia, and will continue until the 17th of the same month. This international sporting event serves as the final stage for the FIA-FIM World Championships for desert rally car and motorcycle racing, and it represents a crucial opportunity for Moroccan champions to qualify for global rally-raid competitions.
Preparations began yesterday at the technical assistance area at the Grand Stadium of Fes, where 236 vehicles will participate, covering a total distance of 2,299 kilometers, including 1,478 kilometers dedicated to special stages. The route traverses three Moroccan regions: Fes-Meknes, the East, and Drâa-Tafilalet. The promotional race, “Prologue,” will kick off on October 12, followed by five main stages, four of which are circular.
During this period, Fes transforms into the capital of motorsports, with the Marriott Hotel hosting the organizational and administrative operations, while Bab Makina Square will host the official ceremony introducing the drivers and navigators on the evening of October 10. This edition sees the participation of top global rally stars, including Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiyah, a three-time world champion, Saudi Arabia’s Yazeed Al Rajhi, the winner of the 2025 Dakar Rally, as well as Spain’s Carlos Sainz and France’s Sébastien Loeb.
The race will start at dawn on October 13 from Fes, heading towards the eastern region through the rocky plateau, then towards Drâa-Tafilalet, culminating in Errachidia, where the main rally camp will be set up. The event will boost the city economically and socially, with 80 percent of the rally’s budget allocated to Moroccan companies, involving approximately 700 local officials and technicians, alongside an environmental approach that includes treating wastewater, recycling waste, and reusing treated race tires.
The event receives extensive media coverage, with racing atmospheres broadcasted through 120 channels across 190 countries, garnering over four million digital interactions, reaching more than 13 million viewers worldwide.
Moroccan participation includes six competitors across various categories, such as motorcycle racer Achraf Zalati in the International Motorcycle Federation category, and Moroccan navigator Firdaws Al-Fannani alongside Frenchman Benoit Delmas in the SSV vehicles category, along with the duo Ali Oubassidi and Hanan Al-Amraoui, title holders in the Open category.
In light of the event’s social aspect, the rally administration will organize a solidarity initiative on the evening of October 15 in Errachidia, which includes equipping a computer room in a local educational institution and supporting the public hospital with medications and medical supplies.
Mark Coma, the rally’s director and a three-time motorcycle champion, stated that Morocco serves as a meeting point for rally-raid enthusiasts worldwide, expressing appreciation for the cooperative spirit of the Moroccan community that aligns with the philosophy of this sport.
The Morocco Rally 2025 affirms its position as one of the most prominent international sporting events on the African continent, blending enjoyment, challenge, and an openness to Morocco’s deep-rooted human and geographical components.
