Prices of chicken in Casablanca drop to comfortable levels for consumers

In recent days, chicken markets in Casablanca have seen a significant decrease in prices, with the price per kilogram dropping from 24 dirhams to about 16 dirhams. This price reduction has provided Moroccan families an opportunity to alleviate the burdens associated with rising food costs.

This decline follows a wave of price hikes that had persisted for weeks, which frustrated consumers due to its direct impact on purchasing power. Industry professionals attributed the increase to inflation in production costs and heightened seasonal demand for the product.

In contrast, citizens expressed their relief over the recent drop, emphasizing that the stability of prices is essential to cope with inflation spikes. They urged the relevant authorities to strengthen market oversight to prevent any speculation that could lead to a renewed rise in prices.
