Casablanca Hosts First African Electric Car Exhibition

A press conference was held yesterday in the economic capital to announce the details of the inaugural “Africa EV Mobility Expo,” which will take place in Casablanca from November 19 to 22, 2025, at the Anfa Park exhibition space. This event is under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized in strategic partnership with the Moroccan Association for the Manufacture and Assembly of Vehicles (AMICA) and the multinational company MIE EVENTS, a leading player in global event organization.

Mohammed Ouzif, Vice President of AMICA, emphasized during the press conference the national and continental strategic importance of choosing Casablanca to host the first African electric car exhibition. He stated that the primary goal of the exhibition is to keep pace with the significant technological advancements and industrial leaps in electric vehicle manufacturing and to share this progress with leading Moroccan companies in the sector.

The president of the association, which serves as the main connector for car manufacturers in Morocco, confirmed that the exhibition will provide alternatives in the promising field of electric mobility, which offers solutions to many challenges faced by traditional transportation. He underscored that electric mobility is the language of the future in the automotive industry and represents a significant gateway for job creation and attracting foreign investments.

The upcoming exhibition in Casablanca reflects the historical and strategic ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the economic giant China. David Wang, CEO of MIE EVENTS, noted in his keynote address that Morocco is an important strategic partner for China and that the Africa EV Mobility Expo will serve as a gateway to explore the African and European continents. Chinese companies have recognized, based on practical experience, that Morocco is the link between Africa and Europe, leading to great interest in exploring the Moroccan market’s advantages through this first African electric mobility exhibition.

It was noted during the press conference that approximately 150 exhibitors from ten countries across three continents (Africa, Asia, and Europe) are expected to participate in the inaugural electric mobility event. AMICA and MIE EVENTS expressed their gratitude to the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade for its constructive partnership and ongoing support for those working in the automotive sector in Morocco.

The program for the Africa EV Mobility Expo includes a dedicated exhibition space for the latest innovations in products and technology, a series of conferences featuring international experts, public stakeholders, and industrialists, as well as B2B meetings to encourage exchanges between suppliers, investors, and decision-makers. Live outdoor demonstrations of several electric vehicles will take place on a designated track. The exhibition management aims to support small and micro-enterprises by offering them exhibition space at symbolic prices to encourage Moroccan entrepreneurs. Additionally, partnerships and scholarships with Chinese universities specializing in electric vehicle manufacturing are expected to be announced, benefiting Moroccan entrepreneurs and youth.
