Before joining the national team, an attack disrupts Naïf Aguerd’s journey to Morocco
Moroccan international Naïf Aguerd, a defender for West Ham United, was assaulted at the Marignane Airport in Marseille by an individual described by French media as “mentally unstable.”
According to the same sources, the incident occurred in the VIP lounge when the attacker approached Aguerd asking for photographs. The situation escalated unexpectedly when he insisted on getting Aguerd’s phone number and then attempted to physically assault him.
Reports indicated that Aguerd, who was en route to Morocco to join the national team (Atlas Lions) training camp, did not file an official complaint with airport police due to his commitment to his scheduled flight to Rabat.
