Aziz Akhannouch: The Security Council Provides a New Boost to the Autonomy Plan for Moroccan Sahara

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, expressed his satisfaction with the recent decision by the United Nations Security Council, which endorsed Morocco’s proposal for autonomy as the primary reference for resolving the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Akhannouch confirmed that the decision marks a new turning point after 26 years of wise and realistic royal diplomacy in managing the fabricated conflict. He noted that this new phase transitions from a management mindset to one of change, leveraging the royal vision that opens up avenues for constructive dialogue and consensus to create a more harmonious and prosperous regional space.

He added that the decision is an occasion to congratulate His Majesty the King, may God assist him, and all Moroccans from Tangier to Lagouira, expressing optimism for the regional future based on Morocco’s realistic and dialogue-driven approach.
