A slight earthquake awakens Al Hoceima early Saturday with no reported losses
Several residents of Al Hoceima and its surroundings were awakened early today by light seismic activity felt by most people in the higher neighborhoods and some nearby villages, with no reported injuries or property damage.
According to preliminary data from local sources, the quake registered a magnitude of around 3 on the Richter scale and occurred at approximately 2:20 AM, lasting just a few seconds, causing limited concern among residents accustomed to such phenomena.
The tremor, described as minor, brought to mind previous seismic experiences in the region over the past years, given Al Hoceima’s location within a seismically active zone, one of the most sensitive areas in Morocco.
