263 Injuries Among Public Forces and Widespread Vandalism During Unauthorized Protests in Several Cities

Rachid Khalfi, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, confirmed that public forces began a series of interventions across various regions of the kingdom on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, to ensure public safety and order while respecting citizens’ rights and freedoms.

Khalfi explained that some forms of protest devolved into acts of violence and vandalism, involving the use of weapons, Molotov cocktails, and stones. As of last night, 263 members of the public forces and 23 others were injured, including one serious case in Oujda, along with damage to 142 vehicles of public forces and 20 private cars.

Administrative institutions, bank branches, and commercial shops were stormed in Ait Ammira, Inzegane Ait Melloul, Agadir Ida Ou Tanane, Tiznit, and Oujda. The situation escalated to the point of an assault on an ambulance belonging to civil defense in the city of Oujda.

The detailed information is as follows:

– Inzegane Ait Melloul: 69 injuries, damage to 3 police vehicles and 4 private cars, as well as 3 bank branches, an insurance agency, a pharmacy, and commercial shops.
– Oujda Angad: 51 injuries, damage to 40 vehicles and two commercial establishments.
– Skhirat Temara: 44 injuries, damage to 47 police vehicles and 13 private cars.
– Beni Mellal: 28 injuries, 7 damaged vehicles.
– Errachidia: 13 injuries, damage to 8 vehicles.
– Berkane: 10 injuries, damage to 12 police vehicles.
– Tiznit: 8 injuries, 1 damaged private vehicle.
– Kenitra: 8 injuries.
– Chtouka Ait Baha: 5 injuries, damage to 12 vehicles.
– Rabat: 5 injuries.
– Guelmim: 5 injuries, 1 damaged vehicle.
– Nador: 4 injuries, damage to 10 police vehicles.
– Khénifra: 4 injuries.
– Meknes: 4 injuries, damage to 1 police vehicle.
– Ouarzazate: 2 injuries.
– Casablanca: 2 injuries, damage to 1 private vehicle.
– Taroudant: 1 injury, damage to 1 vehicle.

Khalfi indicated that authorities subjected a number of individuals to identity verification procedures under the supervision of the public prosecutor before releasing them after completing the necessary procedures. Meanwhile, 409 individuals were placed in provisional detention.

He emphasized that the security interventions were carried out in accordance with the law and professional standards, in response to anonymous calls on social media, reaffirming the state’s commitment to protecting the freedom of peaceful protests within its legitimate framework, while strictly addressing anyone found to be involved in criminal activities, in accordance with judicial procedures and under the supervision of the public prosecutor.
