Young Moroccans Gather in Marrakech and Tangier to Strengthen Environmental Leadership and Tackle Climate Change
As part of the leadership and climate program for youth, the Youth Movement for Climate – Morocco, with the support of UNICEF Morocco, announces the organization of two camps focused on leadership and climate action. The first will take place in Marrakech from September 25 to 28, 2025, at El Olivar Palace Hotel, while the second will be held in Tangier from September 2 to 5, 2025, at Andalucia Golf Tanger Hotel.
These camps aim to enhance the youth’s abilities in understanding current climate challenges, developing their environmental leadership, and engaging them in crafting innovative solutions to adapt to the impacts of climate change at both national and international levels.
A total of 50 young people from various regions of Morocco will participate in the program, selected based on their commitment to climate issues and their contributions to local initiatives.
Over four days, participants will benefit from a comprehensive program that includes:
– Training sessions on climate change and environmental justice
– Interactive workshops on advocacy and climate policies
– Roundtables with experts, academics, and public institution representatives
– Preparation of policy briefs containing actionable recommendations directed at authorities and stakeholders
Each camp will conclude with presentations of individual action plans and pilot projects aimed at creating a sustainable dynamic among youth after the event.
This initiative is part of national efforts to enhance youth participation in implementing climate policies and contribute to Morocco’s commitments under the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13: Climate Action.
