The Moroccan national football team began its intensive preparations on Monday, September 1, 2025, by holding its first training session in a camp ahead of crucial matches against Niger and Zambia in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, set to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The training session took place at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamora and lasted from 8 PM to 9:30 PM. The technical staff focused on light exercises to regain fitness, especially after most players competed with their clubs over the past weekend.

Some players were absent from this session, with their inclusion expected in the coming hours due to club commitments or recent transfers in the summer transfer window.

The national team is set to face Niger on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, followed by a match against Zambia on Monday, September 8, in the capital, Lusaka.

The head coach hopes for a strong start to secure the third consecutive World Cup qualification, following the tournaments in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, noting that just one point is needed for the team to ensure qualification.
