The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Al-Tahrawi, conducted a working visit to the provinces of Nador and Driouch on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, as part of a field tour program aimed at enhancing and improving healthcare services in line with the royal directives.

The minister began his tour at Al-Hosni Hospital in Nador, where he assessed the level of services provided and reviewed the readiness of medical equipment. He also visited the construction site of the new provincial hospital in Selouan, which spans an area of 161,000 square meters, with a capacity of 250 beds and a total cost of 560 million dirhams. The project is approximately 80% complete and is expected to be finalized by February 2026.

In the Driouch province, the minister inspected the regional hospital that opened in 2022 with a capacity of 150 beds, serving a population of nearly 190,000. He met with medical and administrative staff, emphasizing the importance of improving patient care conditions. He also visited the local hospital in Midar, designed for 45 beds and covering an area of about 32,000 square meters, with a budget of 99 million dirhams. This facility includes various departments, with plans for the establishment of a resuscitation unit.

During these visits, the minister listened to healthcare professionals who outlined the challenges related to medications, equipment, and human resources, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to addressing these issues as soon as possible.

This tour reflects a policy of proximity and direct listening to the expectations of citizens and healthcare professionals, aligning with the royal initiative for comprehensive reform of the healthcare system to ensure better access to quality services.
