The mayor of Kenitra, Amina Harouza, welcomed the Ambassador of Madagascar to Morocco, Johary Hoela Rajobson, this Thursday morning during a friendly visit to the municipality’s headquarters, attended by several of her deputies, council members, and staff.

This meeting served as a platform to discuss ways to enhance decentralized cooperation between Kenitra and a territorial community in Madagascar. It underscored the strong ties between the two countries and the need to turn these relationships into practical projects in the fields of local development and cultural exchange.

The ambassador’s visit follows his participation last week in cultural and sporting events hosted in the city, where he received a warm welcome from the municipality and local authorities, reflecting the cordial relations between both parties.

Amina Harouza affirmed Kenitra’s readiness to engage in fruitful partnerships with its counterparts in Madagascar, fully respecting legal provisions, particularly Article 86 of the Organic Law on local authorities, and in coordination with the relevant ministry.

This initiative received widespread praise from attendees, who deemed it an important step towards expanding international cooperation and enhancing Kenitra’s profile as an open city to African experiences.
