On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the government council met under the leadership of Aziz Akhannouch, dedicating part of its proceedings to review the updates regarding the school year 2025-2026.
The Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Mohamed Sad Bariada, presented a comprehensive report on the school year, which commenced on Monday, September 8, under the slogan “Roadmap 2022-2026: For a Quality Public School.”
The minister explained that this academic year witnessed the enrollment of 8,271,256 students across all educational levels. The educational offering has also been strengthened with the establishment of 169 new institutions and 2,461 classrooms, particularly in rural areas and regions with high population density.
The minister added that the total number of teachers reached 299,129, including 14,000 new teachers distributed across 12,441 educational institutions: 8,480 in primary education, 2,337 in lower secondary, and 1,624 in upper secondary. This reflects the government’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and expand infrastructure.
