Tangier Med: Security and Customs Seize 12,000 Drug Pills and Arrest Suspect
On Saturday morning, September 27, officials from the National Security and Customs at Tangier Med Port thwarted an international drug smuggling attempt involving 12,000 pills of Rivotril.
The shipment was discovered inside a light vehicle registered abroad upon its arrival on a sea voyage from one of the European ports. The suspect is a 43-year-old Moroccan holding Spanish nationality.
The arrested individual is undergoing judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor to uncover the circumstances and details surrounding the case, as well as to determine the local and international extent of the criminal activity.
This operation is part of the intensive efforts by various security services to combat international drug smuggling and cross-border crime.
