Morocco Ranks 51st Globally in Work-Life Balance Index for 2025

In a recent global index highlighting professional quality of life and working hours, Morocco ranked 51st out of 60 countries, according to Remote, an international organization specialized in modern work trends, within the Work-Life Balance Index for 2025.

This index is based on criteria related to work hours organization, vacations, and social protection, reflecting the ability of countries to provide a balanced work environment for human resources. Although the ranking appears moderate compared to advanced European and Asian countries, Morocco’s inclusion in this list showcases the kingdom’s progress in regulating the labor market and enhancing social protection. It also confirms its openness to international discussions aimed at improving working conditions in both the public and private sectors.

The report indicated that workers in Morocco spend about 44 hours per week on the job, a figure similar to that of developing economies, while the government aims to develop the legal framework for working hours, vacations, and social rights, especially after recent reforms in social protection and mandatory health insurance.

Countries such as New Zealand, Ireland, and Belgium topped the ranking, known for their social stability and progressive labor legislation. Morocco’s position signifies its readiness to participate in efforts to improve working conditions and enhance human resources welfare.
