Morocco Participates in the World Food India 2025 International Exhibition in New Delhi
Morocco is participating in the fourth edition of the World Food India 2025 exhibition, dedicated to the food industries, processing technologies, and sustainability, which opened on Thursday evening in New Delhi, attended by representatives from over 90 countries and around 2,000 exhibitors.
The Moroccan delegation is headed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Omar Hajira, and includes business leaders from the private sector and officials from sectoral federations, as well as Morocco’s Ambassador to India, Mohammed Maliki.
Under the slogan “Transformation in Service of Prosperity,” this edition was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and serves as a strategic platform for connecting international stakeholders in the food industry.
In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press, Omar Hajira confirmed that Morocco’s participation aligns with the royal directives aimed at diversifying and strengthening economic partnerships, particularly with India. This step is also in line with the Government’s Foreign Trade Program 2025-2027, which prioritizes India as a destination for Morocco.
The official indicated that the current trade volume, estimated at $3 billion, does not yet reflect the full bilateral potential, while an unutilized balance of $1.4 billion awaits activation.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Mr. Hajira met with Indian Minister of Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, where they agreed to establish a dedicated working group for the food industries and enhance cooperation through future agreements. He also met with Harsh Vardhan Agarwal, President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), inviting him to participate in the Moroccan-Indian Business Forum scheduled to be held in Morocco in early 2026.
The World Food India 2025 exhibition will continue until September 28, serving as a global platform for innovations in the food industries and investment opportunities through conferences, bilateral meetings, and thematic sessions.
