Marrakech: Doctor, Assistant, and Intermediaries Arrested for Involvement in Issuing Fake Medical Certificates for Money
The elements of the local police service in Marrakech arrested four individuals, aged between 29 and 59, on Tuesday evening, September 9, including a private-sector general practitioner and his assistant, as well as two intermediaries, on suspicion of their involvement in providing fake medical certificates for financial compensation.
Preliminary reports indicate that police received information about two intermediaries supplying medical certificates for individuals wishing to complete administrative files without undergoing any medical examinations, in exchange for money. They were caught in the act with medical certificates bearing the stamp of the same general practitioner.
Continuing the investigations, the doctor and his assistant were arrested at their clinic in Marrakech for their suspected involvement in this criminal activity.
The arrested individuals are being held under police supervision while the investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor, aims to determine all circumstances surrounding the commission of these acts.
