This Tuesday morning, the Governor of Settat, Mohamed Ali Habouha, inaugurated the national program for irrigation and the provision of potable water in the commune of Ouled Merah, aimed at enhancing water infrastructure and improving the living conditions of the population.
The project includes the construction of 130 kilometers of water distribution pipelines, the establishment of 15 public fountains to bring drinking water closer to citizens, as well as the creation of four water storage tanks and the construction of a water basin equipped with two pumping stations. The development projects will benefit the localities of Sidi Hajjaj, Mani, Ras Al Ain, and Ouled Shabana.
This significant initiative is financed by the General Directorate of Local Authorities under the Ministry of Interior, with implementation entrusted to the Regional Agency for Project Execution in the Casablanca-Settat region, at a total budget of 3,940,426,800 dirhams over 12 months.
This national program reflects the special attention that public authorities give to the water sector as a key driver of local development and as a guarantee to secure vital resources for rural populations.
