Kénitra – The United Professionals Association of Small Taxi Drivers in Kénitra has issued a statement condemning what it describes as deliberate exclusion by the economic department of the city. This follows the department’s refusal to provide the association with the terms of reference for renewing language licenses.
The association clarified that these licenses were purchased at a high financial cost and are the backbone of their operations, representing the livelihood of hundreds of families. It argued that the refusal to hand over the terms of reference constitutes a blatant violation of good governance principles and the constitutional right to access information.
In the same statement, the association emphasized that withholding this essential document opens the door to unethical practices that undermine the public interest, holding the economic department fully responsible for any tensions or unrest that may arise due to what it perceives as unreasonable obstinacy.
The association has demanded an immediate release of a copy of the terms of reference and declared its readiness to pursue various forms of protest and legal action, including organizing sit-ins and demonstrations. It also intends to contact local and national responsible bodies, asserting that it will continue to defend the rights and dignity of its members until transparency is achieved and the alleged injustice and exclusion are ended.
