French expert Frédéric Encel: Casablanca Port Projects Affirm Morocco’s Rise as a Regional Power
Paris – Morocco continues to strengthen its economic and regional standing through strategic investments in infrastructure, particularly in the ports sector, under a royal vision aimed at supporting sustainable development and enhancing the country’s competitiveness at a continental and international level.
Geopolitical expert Frédéric Encel emphasized that Morocco’s projects, notably the restructuring and development of the Casablanca port complex, reflect the kingdom’s ambition to become a rising regional power, pointing out that the scale and modernity of these investments demonstrate a high-level advanced strategy from the state.
Encel, founder of geopolitical meetings in Trouville-sur-Mer, added that “the future will belong to the seas and oceans commercially,” explaining that the region from the Maghreb to Egypt and West Africa does not experience this kind of infrastructure advancement.
The development project for the Casablanca port complex, which has earmarked investments worth 5 billion dirhams, aims to establish the city as a leading economic and financial hub, through the preparation of a fishing port, the construction of a ship repair yard, the development of a cruise terminal, and the establishment of an administrative complex that encompasses all port stakeholders.
These projects, overseen by the National Ports Agency, reflect Morocco’s determination to provide Casablanca with modern infrastructure that meets international standards, bolstering the city’s development and reinforcing its economic position on a continental and international scale.
