Establishment of Over 6,500 Businesses in the Marrakech Region by 2025

The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property reported that a total of 6,508 new businesses were established in the Marrakech-Safi region during the first six months of the current year.
The overall dashboard of the company creation barometer published by the office indicated that these businesses are primarily divided between legal entities with 5,250 businesses and individual entrepreneurs with 1,258 businesses.
The source also highlighted that the Marrakech Province ranked first in terms of the number of newly established businesses, with 5,110, followed by the provinces of Safi (516), Essaouira (271), Al Haouz (265), Ben Guerir (158), Chichaoua (108), and Youssoufia (80).
In terms of sectoral activities, the commerce sector accounted for the largest share with 27.25% of all newly established businesses by the end of June, followed by construction and real estate (24.41%), diverse services (19.58%), hospitality and restaurants (10.58%), transport (6.12%), industry (5.82%), IT and communications (3.01%), financial activities (1.67%), and agriculture and fisheries (1.56%).
Regarding the legal form, 64.4% of the newly established businesses are sole proprietorship limited liability companies, followed by limited liability companies at 35%, and corporations at 0.2%.
On a national level, the number of businesses established in Morocco during the first six months of this year reached 56,611, distributed between legal entities (40,328 businesses) and individuals (16,283 businesses).
The Casablanca-Settat region leads with a total of 17,620 established businesses as of the end of June, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (7,294), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (7,203), Marrakech-Safi (6,508), Fès-Meknès (3,926), Souss-Massa (3,785), the Eastern region (3,243), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (2,035), Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab (1,933), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (1,419), and Drâa-Tafilalet (1,238), with Guelmim-Oued Noun at the bottom with 407 businesses.
