Arrest of French National Wanted Internationally in Marrakech on Suspicions of Drug Trafficking
Marrakech police, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested a 42-year-old French citizen of Arab descent on the evening of Monday, September 29. He was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities in France.
A check of the suspect against the International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) database indicated that he was wanted under a red notice requested by the National Central Bureau in Paris, due to suspicions of involvement in international drug and psychotropic substances trafficking.
The arrested individual is currently under police custody pending judicial investigation, as per the instructions of the competent public prosecutor. The National Central Bureau “Interpol Rabat,” under the General Directorate of National Security, notified its French counterpart of the arrest as part of the extradition process.
This intervention reflects the Moroccan security authorities’ commitment to strengthening international security cooperation, particularly in tracking and apprehending individuals wanted for transnational crimes, underscoring the effectiveness of the security partnership between Morocco and various specialized international agencies.
