The Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, emphasized in his address to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York that Africa is not merely a geographical extension of Morocco, but represents a strategic depth that King Mohammed VI places at the core of the major initiatives he leads on the international stage.
Akhannouch clarified that His Majesty has outlined a comprehensive vision for a united and prosperous continent, one that maintains its identity while simultaneously forging balanced partnerships with international powers. He pointed out that this vision is clearly embodied in the “Rabat Path,” dedicated to African countries along the Atlantic Ocean, representing a civilizational initiative that establishes a new geopolitical solidarity capable of transforming the African Atlantic coast into a space of security and stability, and into a driver of development through enhanced cultural and human connections, turning them into economic and social opportunities.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted that the gas pipeline project between Africa and the Atlantic stands as one of the main pillars of this visionary outlook, reminding that this giant project garners extensive international interest as it provides practical solutions to the challenges related to energy, the economy, and climate, making Africa a key player in the global economic system.
He added that King Mohammed VI consistently underscores that the continent’s future requires harnessing challenges and converting them into opportunities for growth, while valuing its intrinsic capabilities to build a shared destiny based on trust and ambition.
