Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch held discussions today, Wednesday, in New York with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting served as an opportunity to reaffirm the strong ties between Morocco and the European Union, as well as to explore ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two parties.
Morocco is considered the EU’s primary economic and trade partner in Africa, while the EU ranks as Morocco’s largest trading partner, with trade exchanges between the two exceeding 60% of the total exchanges.
Akhannouch is leading the Moroccan delegation participating in the General Assembly sessions, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita.
