The Unity and Reform Movement in Kenitra Revives the Bases of “PJD” in Preparation for the Elections

The Unity and Reform Movement in Kenitra is ramping up efforts to engage the youth ahead of upcoming elections. The movement is conducting an extensive campaign aimed at mobilizing young people to join its educational councils. These initiatives are designed to reinvigorate and strengthen the base of the Justice and Development Party in the city in preparation for the upcoming legislative and local elections.

Informed sources confirmed that the movement’s headquarters and some party leaders’ homes have been the venue for continuous meetings and gatherings to coordinate strategies for attracting young members, particularly focusing on students and activists. These meetings reflect the party’s intention to leverage its outreach and community networks to secure electoral advantages, in line with its usual approach.

It is noteworthy that the Justice and Development Party previously governed the Kenitra municipality for two consecutive terms, during which the city experienced significant cultural, artistic, economic, and sports setbacks, leaving a noticeable impact on the community.

The political landscape in Kenitra continues to present a major challenge for the party, which suffered a crushing defeat in the 2021 elections. The results clearly indicated the residents’ rejection of any ideological directions deemed regressive by many.

In this context, local authorities must prioritize enforcing the law and ensuring that outreach activities are not exploited for political gains. They should monitor the activities of the Unity and Reform Movement and its affiliated associations to prevent any political exploitation, especially as one member of the Justice and Development Party has recently been holding meetings with street vendors in an attempt to re-engage with this issue.
