The National Rally of Independents holds a meeting to discuss the 2026 budget law and approves election proposals

On Thursday evening, August 28, 2025, the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents convened in Rabat, chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, to discuss national and international issues, review the political, social, and economic situation, and consider the organizational aspects of the party.

The meeting opened with renewed congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Youth Day and the anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, emphasizing the bond between the throne and the Moroccan people.

The political bureau expressed its condemnation of malicious campaigns targeting the symbols of the country’s sovereignty and national institutions, calling for continuous mobilization and strengthening of internal unity in the face of all attempts to disrupt national achievements.

The bureau praised the humanitarian initiatives of His Majesty the King in directing aid to the residents of Gaza, affirming its concern for the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories and the promotion of solidarity values.

Domestically, the political bureau approved the party’s proposals to establish the framework for the upcoming legislative elections, supporting the democratic process and enhancing citizen participation and trust in elections.

In terms of government affairs, the meeting commended the government’s prompt response to royal directives, particularly regarding the preparation of the 2026 budget law, which prioritizes spatial justice, reduces social and spatial inequalities, and enhances local development programs.

The bureau also expressed satisfaction with the positive results of the national livestock census, commending direct support for farmers to ensure sustainable production and achieve food sovereignty.

The meeting addressed the implementation of the law regarding alternative penalties, stressing the importance of humanitarian approaches in dealing with minor offenses and contributing to reducing overcrowding in correctional facilities and managing costs effectively.

The political bureau concluded the meeting by recalling the challenges of the new political season, highlighting the related challenges of the 2026 budget law, which is a cornerstone for completing major reforms, achieving economic revival, and creating job opportunities.
