The National Agency for Blood Donation Regulation Denies Blood Storage Shortage
The blood supply in Morocco remains stable and reassuringly abundant, as confirmed by the National Agency for Blood Donation Regulation. The agency stated that donation processes are running smoothly and in an orderly manner across all its centers nationwide.
The agency categorically denied all reports regarding alleged shortages in the blood stock during the summer, asserting that the current situation ensures the availability of this vital resource without any significant threat.
The agency attributed this stability to the heightened societal awareness and the active participation of citizens in regular donation campaigns, especially during peak times when blood donation centers see a significant influx. It also praised the essential role played by civil society organizations and solidarity initiatives that effectively contribute to meeting the needs of both public and private hospitals.
At the same time, the agency emphasized the importance of continued regular blood donations, stressing that the need for blood is not limited to specific periods but is a constant requirement to save the lives of children, pregnant women, cancer patients, and those suffering from accident injuries. It noted that donating blood is a humanitarian and collective duty that preserves lives and reinforces the values of solidarity within the community.
