The Dollar Declines in Asia
Follow-Up
The dollar declined in early trading in Asian markets on Tuesday, shedding gains made in the previous session, following the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of the dismissal of Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve.
Thus, the dollar index, which measures the performance of the U.S. currency against six major currencies, fell by 0.3 percent to 98.187 points, just hours after Trump made his decision public via social media.
The U.S. currency had achieved its largest daily gains in four weeks on Monday, before facing new pressures.
