As the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) approaches, the Moroccan national team continues its intensive preparations with high determination and renewed ambition to write a new chapter of continental brilliance. The team, under coach Tarik Skitioui, is conducting a rigorous training camp in Kenya, one of the three countries hosting the current edition alongside Uganda and Tanzania.
Today, on the grounds of the “Sacco Polis Stadium,” the Champions held a strong training session in which the technical staff focused on physical and tactical aspects to enhance the players’ readiness ahead of the tournament’s official kickoff scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday.
Morocco will open its continental journey with a highly anticipated match against Angola on Sunday at the “Nyayo” Stadium in Nairobi, in a first test that the national staff hopes will result in an ideal start to boost confidence and pave the way for a promising campaign.
In their second appearance in the tournament, the national team will face the host nation, Kenya, on Sunday, August 10, at the “Kasarani Stadium,” in a match many consider crucial for qualification, especially with the expected large crowd supporting the home team.
The third round will pit the locals against Zambia on Thursday, August 14, where the objective will be clear: to secure a positive result that keeps the team in a comfortable position in the race for advancement to the next round, before concluding the group stage with a strong match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Sunday, August 17, at 3 PM local time.
The Moroccan team is hopeful of continuing its success in this tournament, which it has won twice, in the 2018 and 2020 editions, further solidifying its position as a prominent continental power in the local players’ category.
