The Tourism Observatory revealed that Morocco’s tourism activity continued its upward trend during the first half of 2025, with the number of overnight stays in classified accommodation rising by 13% compared to the same period in 2024.
Strong recovery of international tourism
This dynamic was driven by a 5% increase in domestic tourism, alongside a significant jump in international tourism that reached 16%.
Cities leading the recovery
Several Moroccan destinations recorded significant growth in overnight stays: Tangier (+24%), Casablanca (+18%), Fes (+16%), Essaouira (+14%), Agadir (+10%), Al Haouz (+9%), Marrakech (+6%), and Rabat (+5%).
Increase in revenues and number of visitors
Tourism revenues in foreign currency from non-resident visitors amounted to approximately 53.96 billion dirhams, reflecting a 10% increase. Additionally, the number of visitors at border crossings reached 8.88 million tourists, marking a year-on-year increase of 19%.
Confirmation of a strong recovery
These figures, which encompass urban, cultural, and beach destinations, highlight that the Moroccan tourism sector is solidifying its robust recovery and strengthening its position as one of the most attractive destinations in the region.
