Marrakech: A 6% Increase in Tourist Overnight Stays

According to the Tourism Observatory, the number of overnight stays recorded in classified accommodation establishments in Marrakech saw an increase of 6% by the end of June, reaching 5,058,516 nights compared to 4,762,507 nights during the same period last year.

The observatory highlighted in its statistics regarding tourism in Morocco during the first six months of 2025 that the occupancy rate in the Red City reached 71%, up from 68% during the same period in 2024.

In June, classified accommodation establishments in Marrakech recorded a slight increase of 1% in overnight stays, reaching 784,073 nights with an occupancy rate of 66%, compared to 777,515 nights at a 66% occupancy rate in June 2024.

Furthermore, the Red City managed to maintain its position as the most visited tourist destination nationwide, followed by Agadir (3.1 million overnight stays) and Casablanca (1.19 million overnight stays).

On a national level, the average number of overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments increased by 13% during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

The observatory noted that this development can be attributed to a 5% rise in domestic tourism and a 16% increase in international tourism.
